This Saturday, April 29, 2023, the weather is rainy in the morning over a large part of the south of France: in Aquitaine, in Midi-Pyrénées, in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes but also in the Mediterranean hinterland. On the northern half, the sky is “cloudy to very cloudy”, with low clouds, according to Météo France.

In the morning, from north to south, temperatures are between 8 and 15°C. They are down but remain at a “very good level for the season”. In the afternoon, the maximum reaches 17°C north of the Seine. Over the rest of the northern half and Auvergne, they fluctuate between 18 and 23°C. In the south-west and the Mediterranean regions, temperatures are between 20 and 25°C, and locally between 26 and 28°C.

“A stormy degradation will take place from 1 p.m.” according to Météo France. Arriving from the south-west, the degradation is carried by a south-westerly flow which brings very hot air up over France. The cause: “a depression that remains blocked on the Atlantic” since this Friday, April 28.

In the afternoon, “the precipitation is reactivated and frequently becomes stormy in Midi-Pyrénées and in the interior of Roussillon”. These stormy rains will continue for part of the night. Scattered rainfall is also expected from Berry to Jura and from Brittany to Poitou-Charentes.
