Sunscreen is more than essential for the rest of June. Indeed, if the first days were punctuated by a rise in temperatures and heavy stormy showers, the week of June 12 still has some surprises in store for us. The Weather Channel and Météo-France agree that most French departments will be affected by strong heat. Discover in our slideshow below those where it will be the hottest.

“Overall, the heat is essential but will often be stormy in the west and south”, announces Cyril Bonnefoy, meteorologist for La Chaîne Météo. For good reason, since mid-May, an anticyclonic blockage has been maintained in the northern half of the country. Conversely, the south of France is particularly affected by stormy showers. However, the latter should decline next week.

“We are going to find a weather configuration quite similar to the past few weeks”, specifies the editorial staff of La Chaîne Météo. Indeed, thunderstorms will still be present in the south of French territory, but will shift mainly towards the mountains and the hinterland. In the northern part of the country, the weather will be dry again. This is explained by the anticyclone of the British Isles which “will swell again, bringing beautiful dry weather”, concludes Cyril Bonnefoy.

Overall, temperatures will be particularly hot at the start of the week. Indeed, in 12 departments, they will exceed 30°C. For other regions, it will be between 23 and 29°C. Nevertheless, at the end of the week, the latter will begin to drop to reach normal levels for the season. In addition, the weather conditions should improve the week of June 19, 2023.
