August is coming to an end. Marked by its fires, its drought and its deadly storms, this month is part of the continuity of one of the hottest and driest summers ever recorded. As a reminder, September 1 also marks the beginning of meteorological autumn.

For this last week, the month of August does not give us gifts. According to La Chaîne Météo forecasts, peak heat, violent storms and tropical atmosphere are on the program. This Monday, August 22, already, gusts of wind of up to 70 km / h increase the risk of fires starting in France.

It is Tuesday that the real rise in temperatures begins, which gain up to 5°C compared to the day before. “On the sky side, it is improving with the return of the sun to ¾ of the country except in the northwest”, specifies the site specializing in meteorology.

However, it is necessary to wait until Wednesday to record a heat peak, with a mercury that can display up to 38°C locally south of the Garonne. The heat peak continues Thursday, with an increasingly stormy atmosphere in the southwest.

“The nights will be very mild with a minimum of 15 to 22°C. From Thursday, the atmosphere will become increasingly heavy”, articulates the forecaster. On Friday, thunderstorms will punctuate the day, accompanied by a slight drop in temperatures and a lot of humidity.
