Winter has indeed arrived. Since the weekend of December 10, the cold has taken hold of a whole part of the territory. From Wednesday 14 December, snowflakes will cover a number of departments.

Indeed, as La Chaine Météo reports, France is at the heart of an air mass conflict, between the mild ocean air and the cold Scandinavian air. At the same time, low pressure clouds coming from the Atlantic Ocean should come into contact with the cold air, giving rise to episodes of snow and ice.

For this reason, Météo France has classified 33 departments on orange alert tomorrow due to freezing rain and snowfall which could cause traffic disruption on Wednesday December 14.

At the same time, the meteorological service also placed several departments on yellow alert for snow and ice, but also for extreme cold or avalanches. Here is the full list:
