This Monday, March 13, 2023 marks the return of rain, showers and thunderstorms. According to forecasts by La Chaîne Météo, “the weather is deteriorating with the arrival of a very active Atlantic disturbance”. This deterioration in weather conditions is also accompanied by strong winds and exceptional mildness across the country. Because if the sky is gray, even threatening in places, this does not prevent extraordinarily mild temperatures for the season. The specialized site predicts 13°C in Rennes and Strasbourg, 14°C in Dieppe and Paris… But also 20°C in Biarritz, and up to 25°C at the foot of the Pyrenees before the storm arrives .

“From the Pays de la Loire to the Paris basin to the neighboring regions of the Channel, the weather is disturbed with intermittent rain or showers. The wind is blowing hard, at nearly 80 km / h in gusts, with a threat of violent winds on the coasts at more than 100 km / h this evening”, warns the forecaster. As a reminder, and as Meteo-France indicates, we can speak of a storm “when the depression generates gusts greater than 90km/h”.

Faced with these severe bad weather, Météo-France has placed almost the entire country on yellow or orange vigilance for various reasons: storms, violent winds, floods, avalanches, waves-submersion… Only Corsica is spared by vigilance. . Which departments are on orange alert? Check it out in our slideshow below*. Note: orange vigilance for risk of thunderstorms begins at 3 p.m., and should end at 9 p.m.
