(Cologne) Bayern Munich on Wednesday denounced the racist insults aimed at their French international Dayot Upamecano broadcast on social networks after their failed match against Manchester City (3-0), saying that “the whole club” supported the player.

“Everyone at the club, let’s denounce racism in the strongest possible way! The whole club is behind you Upa! “Wrote the club on its Instagram account.

The Blues defender notably made a big mistake causing the second of Manchester City’s three goals on Tuesday in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.

“It’s very hard for Upa but his presence (at the club) is not unfounded. He has great qualities and we believe in him,” Bayern midfielder and captain Joshua Kimmich said after the game.
