For the weekend of April 1 and 2, 2023, the gloomy weather will be caused by the passage of the violent gale on Friday March 31. Indeed, the tail of the Mathis storm, which passed overnight from Thursday to Friday, is responsible for the disturbed conditions of the next few days according to Météo France.

On Saturday April 1, temperatures will fall below normal for the season, with an average drop of 1.5°C. According to Cyril Bonnefoy, meteorologist from The Weather Channel, gusts of wind will drop to an average of 70 km on the Atlantic coast and around the Mediterranean. However, rain and sleet will add to the very cool weather over much of the country. The train will still dominate the rest of the territory with stormy showers and snowfall at altitude.

On Sunday, the influence of the high pressure will be felt more and more. The weather will remain rainy from the Pyrenees to Alsace according to Météo France. Mistral and tramontana will continue to blow strongly near the Mediterranean. According to La Chaîne Météo, we can expect 5 to 8°C in the morning and 8 to 14°C in the afternoon. In sleet and showers, you can expect a particularly unpleasant feeling. Remember to cover yourself well, because, in April, do not discover yourself with a thread.

The wind will turn northwest and a large part of France will be exposed to very cold gales. Discover in our slideshow below the departments affected by these icy squalls.
