(Montreal) A bar in the Verdun borough of Montreal was targeted by a second arson attack in four days on the night of Monday to Tuesday.

According to the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, a suspect smashed a window on the front of the business located on Wellington Street to throw incendiary objects inside.

There was an initial fire, but the flames went out on their own. There was no one inside, so no one was injured in the incident. The damage would be minor.

The SPVM has, however, opened an investigation, since the same licensed establishment was the target of a similar event last weekend.

The SPVM arson module will be responsible for the investigation. Its members will go to the site on Tuesday morning to assess the scene and try to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.
