(Val Gardena) Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr won the first super-G of the winter, counting for the Alpine Skiing World Cup, Friday in Val Gardena, Italy.

Kriechmayr, 32, signed his 17th World Cup victory with a minimal lead, 2/100th over his compatriot Daniel Hemetsberger, 2nd, and 3/100th over Swiss Marco Odermatt, 3rd.

The Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde completely missed his super-G with several trajectory errors, synonymous with 36th place, 1 sec 09/100 behind the winner of the day.

Winner the day before to everyone’s surprise of the first descent of Val Gardena, the American Bryce Bennett ranked 13th with his bib 62.
