WASHINGTON — U.S. prosecutors said Thursday that applications giant SAP is going to need to pay $8 million in fines in recognizing allegations that it illegally exported its goods into Iran.
The U.S. explained the German firm would have faced stiffer penalties had itn’t systematically revealed the actions which violated American sanctions against Iran.
The Business consented to the penalties as part of an arrangement with all the U.S. departments of Justice, Commerce and Treasury.
SAP said it welcomed the settlement in a statement Thursday.
