(LONDON) Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford will miss “a few games” with a muscle injury, his club announced on Wednesday on the eve of the Europa League quarter-final first leg against Sevilla FC.

Author of 28 goals in all competitions this season, Rashford, 25, limped off on Saturday before the end of the league match won against Everton (2-0), apparently injured in the adductors.

“A review of the injury suggests that Marcus will be out for a few games, but he should be back for the end of the season” in the league, the club said in a statement.

The absence could be detrimental for the club, which entered a crucial and overloaded period, despite the return to form of French striker Anthony Martial and midfielder Christian Eriksen, while Brazilian midfielder Casemiro should be lined up against Sevilla after a suspension.

The Red Devils, 4th in the Premier League at the end of the 30th day of the championship, are level on points with Newcastle (3rd) and keep three lengths ahead of Tottenham, who have one game more. They also won the English League Cup in February and will play an FA Cup semi-final on April 23.
