U18 World Hockey Championship | Canada loses to Sweden to play for bronze

(Basel) Canada will play for bronze at the World Under-18 Hockey Championship, following a 7-2 loss to Sweden in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Forwards Otto Stenberg, who had five points, and David Edstrom each scored two goals for defending champion Sweden.

Tom Willander, Anton Wahlberg and Zeb Forsfjall also scored for Sweden.

Angus MacDonell and Macklin Celebrini replied for Canada.

Sweden will face the United States in the gold medal match in a replay of the 2022 final. Before that match, Canada will face off against Slovakia in a bronze medal game on Sunday.

Canada won gold in 2021 but was left out of the podium last year.
