Linus Ullmark stopped 40 shots, Jake DeBrusk scored the game-winning goal and the Boston Bruins beat the Ottawa Senators 2-1 on Tuesday.

David Krejci added a power-play goal for the Bruins, who have won their last four games.

Dylan Gambrell scored for the Senators. Mads Sogaard blocked 33 shots.

The Bruins earned their 54th win of the season and with 12 games remaining, they are on course to break the 62-games-in-a-season mark the Red Wings set in 1995-96 before the Lightning defeated it. ties in 2018-19.

Ullmark improved to 35-5-1.

DeBrusk completed a fine play from Brad Marchand, collecting a rebound to beat Sogaard 15:52 into the first period. His net was his 23rd of the season.

Gambrell scored around the net to give the Senators a 1-0 lead.

Luke Evangelista scored twice in 39 seconds and the Nashville Predators beat the Buffalo Sabers 7-3 on Tuesday night.

Matt Duchene also scored twice, including once in an empty net, to give him 21 goals this season. Tommy Novak, Philip Tomasino and Ryan McDonagh each had a goal and an assist.

Juuse Saros stopped 28 shots and even had an assist, beating the Sabers for the first time in seven career starts.

The win kept the Predators in contention for the final two playoff spots in the Western Conference. The Predators started the day in 10th place, five points behind the eighth-placed Winnipeg Jets.

Tage Thompson scored his 43rd goal of the season, his first in nine games, while Jeff Skinner and Dylan Cozens also scored for the Sabres. Thompson equaled the team record, held by Vanek in 2006-07.

Rasmus Dahlin added an assist on Thompson’s goal, becoming the third Sabers defenseman to reach 50 assists, and the first since Phil Housley (60) in 1989-90.
