WASHINGTON — Trevor Noah (the host of “The Daily Show”, on Comedy Central) will be the featured entertainer at the White House Correspondents Association dinner on April 30.

This will be the first event of its kind since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Steven Portnoy, president of the association and CBS News Radio reporter, said that “Trevor” is an amazing talent that keeps us thinking and laughing four nights a weeks. “We are excited for him to bring our 100-year Washington Tradition “Back to Abnormal” to life.”

Noah will also host the Grammy Awards .

The association suggested that President Joe Biden attend the annual dinner , even though Donald Trump was absent during his term.

According to a press release, the event will be “the first chance since 2016 for press and president to share some laughs for good causes.”

It is attended by celebrities, journalists, and politicians. The proceeds go to scholarships.
