Since 1973 and after 48 seasons, the series The Young and the Restless continues to bring together many viewers in front of their television sets. Unfortunately, just like many other series with it such as Arnold and Willie or Beverly Hills 90210, the series seems to have been cursed. Indeed, many actors who participated in the sitcom have disappeared in tragic circumstances, like actor Kristoff St. John.

On February 3, 2019, fans of the series learned with sadness of the disappearance of the American star. The 52-year-old actor who played the role of Neil Winters in the fiction, was found dead at his home. He would have died after an overdose of alcohol. A drama within the drama since in 2014, the actor and his ex-wife Mia St. John lost their 24-year-old son Julian. The latter, who suffered from schizophrenia, ended his life. A drama from which the star of the Fires of love had a lot of trouble recovering.

His ex-wife Mia St. John was the last person the actor spoke to. “He called me at 11 a.m. and the first thing he said to me was, ‘Mia, thank god you picked up!’ He was so depressed. According to the American site TMZ, the actor suffered from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. On the day of his death, he would have consumed too high a dose of alcohol which would therefore have triggered a heart attack.

For nearly 30 years, actor William Wintersole played the role of lawyer Mitchell Sherman in the mythical series The Young and the Restless. But on November 5, 2019, the latter, aged 88, died of cancer in his Los Angeles home.

“A Hollywood actor for 60 years, he touched the lives of many people. I did everything I could for him…and it brings me peace. But sadly…I miss him so much” , had written his daughter Tiffany Harmon on his social networks. The actor had also shot in other successful series such as Little House on the Prairie, The Invaders or even Star Trek.

A year before the disappearance of William Wintersole, it was actress Elizabeth Sung who suddenly disappeared at the age of 63. The star had recently been battling lymphoma. From 1994 to 1996, the actress played the role of Luan Volien in the series Les Feux de l’amour.

After her departure from the sitcom, she chained the shootings in other fictions all also followed by the viewers. She had notably played in the series Dr House, The Sopranos, NCIS: Los Angeles, Bones or even in Elementary.

But 27 years later, the actor tragically disappears following a road accident. While his friend Roger Rodas was driving a Porsche Carrera GT, he suddenly lost control of their car before colliding with a lamppost and then with trees at more than 130 km/h. The two friends tragically die during the accident. The actor, whose body was calcined, died as a result of traumatic and thermal injuries.

Eric Braeden, interpreter of Victor Newman in the series The Young and the Restless since 1980, has just announced on his social networks that he was suffering from prostate cancer at the age of 82.

“I’m sorry to talk about such intimate things, but I think it can be beneficial for some older men who may be listening to me. The prostate grows as you get older, it’s inevitable,” he said and continued: “My prostate had problems before, it manifests itself in the urge to go to the bathroom very often. At one point, I even had to go almost every half hour, when I had to recover from my knee operation. It was not good”. The actor explains that he has already undergone an operation in order to “remove the cancer”.

An operation that was not enough, however, since his urologist explained to him that “among the less aggressive cancer cells, there are more aggressive cancer cells”. The actor now needs immunotherapy treatment for six weeks. “I’m determined. That bastard isn’t going to get me, I’m going to get him,” he said.
