The children are coming back to do the show on your screens. TF1 announced in a press release this Tuesday, June 13, 2023 the return of The Voice Kids for a ninth season hosted by Nikos Aliagas and Karine Ferri. The channel’s iconic show, produced by ITV Studios France, still promises a lot of promising young candidates (aged 6 to 15) who will move you.

A season under the sign of talent and above all benevolence: this is the watchword dictated by its historic presenter Nikos Aliagas, present this Monday in the auditorium of TF1 for the press conference which Planet was able to attend. “We will have around 60 candidates, girls and boys”, some of whom were revealed in the exclusive images of their blind auditions. From French variety to rap, including pop… These young prodigies will surprise you!

Who says new season says “new”. Starting with a big change on the broadcasting side: the junior talent competition will be broadcast during school holidays on Tuesday July 4, 2023 at 9:10 p.m. on TF1. Unlike previous editions where The Voice Kids was offered on Friday or Saturday evening. A strategy to attract a large audience on weekdays (like with Koh-Lanta) during the summer period?

On the “mechanics of the game” side, the Fantastic Four coaches will be able to use a new power that has already proven itself in the adult season: the Super Block. As a reminder, a coach can use his buzzer to block and return the chair of the opponent of his choice, even if he has already buzzed to welcome talent to his team. Suffice to say that the competition is likely to be even more intense between our stars and they are not going to give each other gifts.

This year, the ninth season of The Voice Kids welcomes a new quartet of coaches. After the departure of Julien Doré and Louane after the final last year, two telecrochet figures will join the seats alongside the owner Patrick Fiori (with four victories to his credit) and Kendji Girac (winner of The Voice in season 3 and mentor for the Kids since season 7). They are Slimane and Nolwenn Leroy.

The first, winner of the fifth season with Florent Pagny, is one of the greatest voices in French song and an outstanding songwriter for great artists. The one who confirmed his success as a duo on the album Versus with Vitaa was coach with our Belgian neighbors from 2018 to 2020. With such a career, Slimane intends to stick together when he is installed in the seat of his mentor and great friend, affected by lung cancer since 2022.

As for the winner of the second season of Star Academy, evoking her memories of her casting in the same auditorium at TF1, she has already had a little experience of The Voice. During season 11, she was the surprise coach and could pick up several candidates who had failed blind auditions. Like her predecessor Jenifer, the 40-year-old Breton will be there to support the most talent in her team.

This ninth season of The Voice Kids will also see the arrival of guest artists (or “co-coaches”) who will support the coaches with their talents during the rehearsals for the battles. “It gives crisp moments”, humorously declares producer Pascal Guix to journalists.

For this stage, Slimane will be supported by singers Claudio Capéo and Vitaa. Patrick Fiori will form a shock trio with Ycare and Christophe Willem. Nolwenn Leroy will be accompanied by Bilal Hassani and Joyce Jonathan. Finally, Kendji Girac will be assisted by the artists Wejdene and Soolking. Note that the blind auditions and the battles were filmed during All Saints 2022 while the semi-final has been in the box since last January. Who will succeed the young Reunionese Raynaud, the winning talent of the Fiori team? See you in the fall for the final.
