Quebec actor Guillaume Cyr will share the screen with Jamie Lee Curtis in the series The Sticky, broadcast by Amazon Studios on its Prime Video platform.
The English-language series is inspired by a story that caused a stir in 2011: the theft of nearly 70% of the world’s maple syrup supply. The estimated value of the stolen precious cash: 18 million Canadian dollars.
Guillaume Cyr will play Rémy Bouchard, a security guard with a rather gentle nature, who will help a maple syrup producer with a strong temperament (played by Margo Martindale) to commit this high-carb theft. Chis Diamantopoulos will also be part of the cast.
Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis serves as executive producer on the series and has confirmed her participation in the project
The Sticky will be shot in and around Montreal by Canadian directors Michael Dowse and Joyce Wong. The series will be available exclusively on Prime Video and can be viewed in 240 countries and territories around the world.
The Sticky is expected to air sometime in 2024.
