The Spanish airports recorded 76.2% less passengers in July despite the desescalada

The airports in the Aena network have been registered in July, more than 6.9 million passengers, 76.2% less than the same month in 2019 . This represents a significant recovery with respect to the just over a million in the month of June due to the resumption of commercial operations by the lifting of the travel restrictions in Spain and Europe, that could slow down or even recede for the flare-ups that were appearing during the month of July.

During the past month, the airports have registered 118.467 operations, grew 50.8% less, and by they passed 59.292 tons of goods, 32.9% less than a year before.

Of the total number of passengers recorded in July, 6.95 million corresponded to commercial passengers , of which 3.2 million travelled on domestic flights, 61.9% less than in July 2019, and $ 3.7 million did so on international routes, 82.2% less.

Palma de Mallorca, a leader in passenger

The Airport of Palma de Mallorca has registered in July the highest number of passengers of the network with 1.1 billion, which represents a decrease of 73.8% at with respect to the same month in 2019.

You have followed Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with 990.899 (-83,3%); Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat , with 872.924 (-83,7%); Malaga-Costa del Sol, with 575.724 (-74,2%); Ibiza, with 426.287 (-68%); Alicante-Elche, with 422.857 (-75,4%), and Gran Canaria, with 381.636 (-64,3%).

In terms of the number of operations, the airport that has had a greater number of movements in July was also Palma de Mallorca, with a total of 12.478 (-56,6%); followed by Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with a 10.708 (-83,3%); Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 10.369 (-68,8%) ; Malaga-Costa del Sol, with 6.939 (-56,3%); Ibiza, with 6.587 (-46,2%), and Gran Canaria, with 6.046 (-40,7%).

32.9% less goods

as goods are concerned, in the month of July have transported 59.292 tons of cargo across the network, 32.9% less than the same month in 2019, due to a very important part of a typical load is transferred in commercial aircraft passengers.

The four airports that recorded the most traffic of goods were Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, with 28.134 tons (-39,2%) ; Zaragoza, 10.144 tons (-20,9%); Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 9.320 (-40,8%), and Vitoria, with 5.746 tons (-8,5%).
