The scourge of the illegal occupation: Spain exceeds 40 cases per day

The coronavirus is sharpening the drama of the illegal occupation, a social scourge that causes that increasingly more owners choose not to take your home to the market. According to the data of the Ministry of the Interior, during the first half of the year recorded 7.450 complaints related to this crime in Spain, which represents a 5% increase compared with the same period of 2019. That is to say, in the first half of the year recorded more than 40 complaints a day in Spain by illegal occupations.

Nearly half of these procedures (3.611) were performed in Catalonia . The region is the most affected by the illegal occupation, and triples the data in Andalusia , which occupies the second position in this particular index with
