The Pentagon has acknowledged that the crashed aircraft belonged to the U.S.

the Pentagon has acknowledged the deaths of several soldiers who were on Board the plane that crashed in the Afghan province Ghazni. Reuters reports that Bombardier E-11A flying over the territory controlled by the Taliban, who said that the plane they shot down.

Another source, referenced by the Agency, who refused to identify himself confirmed that the plane crashed as a result of enemy action.
