Euro 2024 Anthems: A Musical Collaboration

This summer’s Euro 2024 anthem is a special collaboration between German singer/songwriter Leony, American rock band OneRepublic, and Italian electronic group MEDUZA. The song titled “Fire” will be performed live by all three bands during the tournament’s closing ceremony on Sunday, July 14. Fans have the opportunity to win two tickets to the final through a social media campaign using the hashtag #LightYourFire.

UEFA Euro 2024 tournament director Philipp Lahm expressed the importance of music and football in uniting people. He referenced the iconic anthem “Football’s Coming Home” from EURO ’96 and highlighted the goal of celebrating Europe’s diversity and fostering a sense of togetherness through the EURO song “FIRE.”

As the excitement builds towards the tournament launch on Friday, June 14, with Germany facing Scotland in the group stages, the official anthem promo video has been released.

In addition to the main anthem, the Dutch national team collaborated with electronic artist Armin van Buuren to create their official national anthem “Larger Than Life,” which includes samples of the team’s players. This marks the first time since 1988 that a track has incorporated player samples, following André Hazes’ “Wij Houden Van Oranje.”

Which anthem do you prefer, the official Euro 2024 song or Shakira’s 2024 Copa America anthem?
