(Buffalo) Nick Suzuki is the NHL’s second star of the past week.

The center player led the league with eight points, including two goals, in three games. And that’s as the Habs have faced top clubs like the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins. He also had four points in an 8-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets last Saturday.

The NHL points out that his streak of four consecutive games with at least two points is the longest in the CH since that of Alex Kovalev in 2009.

Suzuki’s 61 points so far this season equal his career-best haul from last year. On the positive side, he has seen his differential drop from -29 in 2021-22 to -8 this campaign.

Viktor Arvidsson of the Los Angeles Kings was awarded the first star of the week, while goaltender Filip Gustavsson of the Minnesota Wild received the third.

Suzuki and his teammates will face the Buffalo Sabers on Monday night. The roster deployed will be the same roster that defeated the Jackets, with Rem Pitlick and Chris Wideman left out. Only change: Jake Allen will defend the net. We suspect that Samuel Montembeault will be in charge against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.

The freshly debauched striker from the university ranks did not train with the big club on Monday in Buffalo, he who will not join the team until Tuesday in Philadelphia. He shouldn’t play against the Flyers either.

Farrell signed a three-year deal with the CH on Sunday, his first contract in the NHL. He has been dominant this season in the NCAA with Harvard University. His team, however, suffered elimination over the weekend.
