(New York) The price per barrel of West Texas Intermediate (WTI), the American benchmark variety, ended up more than 5% on Monday, driven by a technical rebound as the end of the quarter approached, as well as by renewed appetite for risk.
WTI for May delivery gained 5.12%, to close at $72.81.
