A sweet perfume of sun and idleness. A few days before the start of the summer holidays, the 2022 edition of the Europ Assistance and Ipsos holiday barometer reveals that 74% of French people intend to leave this summer. Among them, 40% chose to go abroad: to Spain (15%), Italy (8%) or Portugal (5%).
More surprising figures: as the month of June draws to a close, 23% of holidaymakers have not yet chosen their destination and 55% have not yet booked. Is the trend towards last-minute departures?
Andrea, 26 years old and a journalist, is used to going on vacation at the last moment. For Planet, she tells us her simple but effective tips for mastering the art of the last-minute like no one else and affording a vacation at a lower cost. Check out his advice in our slideshow below.
“To travel cheaply at the last minute by plane, my first piece of advice is to be flexible and not too demanding. It will be much easier if you tell yourself that you would like to go to Italy in the next three weeks, than if you you say you absolutely want to be in Rome on specific dates. Ditto for flight schedules, you will probably have to make concessions and get up at four in the morning to go to Beauvais airport”, explains Andrea.
