Tea: 5 tips for reusing it

Tea is one of the most consumed beverages worldwide, and one of the favorite drinks of the French. It is the second most consumed drink after water. Indeed, France began to consume tea in the 17th century and since then, more and more people have been drinking it regularly. In 2022, French households consume an average of 250 g of tea per year. This average ranks below Ireland and England, which have an average of 3 kilos per person per year. However, tea remains very popular in France (2 out of 3 French people say they are fervent tea lovers).

With a 28% increase in consumption compared to 2017, the turnover of the tea sector in France today amounts to 500 million euros.

While green tea has many health benefits (fights aging, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, prevents certain pathologies such as cancer, etc.), tea is also an ally for your garden.

60% of French people admit to consuming their tea in sachets. Throwing away those little tea bags in the trash could still be a shame, as there are several ways to reuse it. Indeed, many French people have started sharing tips on the web to reuse these bags in their garden. And yes, tea can be very useful for growing your plants and your vegetable garden. An eco-responsible practice that can also be economical.

Once you’ve had your tea, think about doing one of our different tips found in our slideshow:
