The countdown begins ! The tax return campaign has been launched since April 13, and will end on different dates depending on your department of residence. In 2023, online reporting is mandatory for all taxpayers who have Internet access.

As evidenced by the public service’s official website, you are entitled to an automatic declaration if “you were taxed only on income pre-filled with taxes in 2022” and “you did not report a change of situation in 2022”.

Be careful, however: benefiting from an automatic declaration does not mean that you have nothing to do. It is advisable to check the income withheld by the tax authorities, to report any errors and changes in situation, and to tick certain boxes which are not ticked automatically. Also be sure to fill in your tax credits and reductions if applicable.

If you find that the automatic declaration is correct, you have nothing more to do. On the other hand, if your situation has changed, you are obliged to complete an online declaration by modifying the elements in question.
