(Milan) Winner of the Tour de France on two occasions, Tadej Pogacar announced that he had added the Giro d’Italia to his program for the coming season.

The Slovenian made the announcement in conjunction with Giro organizers, who said Pogacar still plans to take part in the Great Loop in 2024.

Pogacar won the Tour in 2020 and 2021. He finished second behind Jonas Vingegaard in the last two editions.

He has never participated in the Giro.

No rider has won the Giro and the Tour in the same year since Marco Pantani achieved the double in 1998.

Next year’s Giro will start near Turin on May 4 and finish in Rome near the Colosseum on May 26.
