(Soldeu) Swiss Marco Odermatt and Lara Gut-Behrami won their respective super-G races at the Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals on Thursday in Soldeu.

On the men’s side, Odermatt clocked one minute 23.91 seconds, beating Austrian Marco Schwarz by 29 hundredths of a second.

Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde was third in 1:24.62.

Canadian Jeffrey Read had the best performance of his career in the World Cup with a fifth place, just 16 hundredths of a second behind Kilde and the bronze medal.

The only other Canadian entered in the race, James Crawford failed to complete his run.

In the women’s category, Gut-Behrami crossed the finish line in 1:26.70, 22 hundredths of a second ahead of Italian Federica Brignone.

Ragnhild Mowinckel of Norway was third in 1:27.17.
