Secret of betrayal: Eschborner mayor against judgment

The legal battle to the Eschborner mayor Mathias Geiger (FDP). His lawyer had lodged an appeal at the Federal court of justice (BGH), told the Frankfurt regional court on request. The politician was sentenced at the end of November because of the betrayal of the tax – and service secrets, to a fine.

The judgment was preceded by an understanding between those involved in the process. Even if Geiger and his defenders would have contributed to it, should not mean that legal means should be, it was said in court.

the judgment is final and for the 61-year-old FDP politician, the presumption of innocence applies. In the next year, Geiger wants to be mayor for re-election.
