Zombies that chase passers-by and bite their victims with their teeth. No, it’s not a horror film, but rather the new Green Day music video. Transformed into the living dead, Billie Joe Armstrong and his group perform The American Dream Is Killing Me, the first extract from their next album, the release date of which has just been revealed.
Named Saviors, the trio’s 14th opus will be released on January 19, 2024.
“Saviors is an invitation to step inside the brain of Green Day, into their collective spirit as a band, and understand the friendship, culture and legacy of the last 30 years,” describes the punk rock group on its various social networks.
The themes covered in this new album? “Disease, war, inequality, influencers, yoga retreats, alt-right, dating apps, masks, mental health, climate change, oligarchs, social media division, free marijuana, fentanyl, fragility…” Green Day lists in a post on Instagram.
Remember that Green Day is the headliner of the Gray Cup halftime show, which will take place on November 19 in Hamilton, Ontario.
