(Toronto) Toronto Blue Jays fans will find new ways to watch a game at Rogers Center this season.
The Jays unveiled the completed first phase of stadium renovations on Thursday, a week before their home opener.
All the seats in section 500 have been replaced to make way for more convivial spaces, such as a park for young families and a terrace overlooking the city’s skyscrapers.
The outfield fence and bullpen have been raised, meaning pitchers will be warming up just yards from fans.
The revamped stadium was presented after an official ribbon-cutting ceremony by Jays President and CEO Mark Shapiro, Rogers Chairman Edward Rogers and CEO Tony Staffieri.
Shapiro said these changes were intended to appeal to different types of fans, modernize the customer experience and bring them closer to players.
