(Sarnia) Marie-Philip Poulin scored in a shootout and Canada recorded its first victory in the Rivalry Series against the United States with a score of 3-2, Saturday at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena, in Ontario.

Megan Keller scored shorthanded to give the Americans a 1-0 lead at 8:19 of the second period. Alex Carpenter doubled his team’s lead at 4:46 of the third period.

Danielle Serdachny got Canada on the board at 10:06. At 12:39 of the third period, Ella Shelton tied the game.

Canada had 26 shots, while the United States finished the game with 24 shots. The Canadians did not score in five power plays.

The fifth matchup of the Rivalry Series is scheduled for Wednesday in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
