The Carolina Panthers added another veteran to their offense Sunday night when they signed wide receiver and free agent Adam Thielen.

The 32-year-old Thielen was released early in the offseason after spending the past nine seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

In his career with the Vikings, Thielen caught 534 passes for 6,682 yards and 55 touchdowns in 135 games. Last season, he had 70 receptions for 716 yards and six majors while paired with star receiver Justin Jefferson.

According to an anonymous source, Thielen has signed a three-year contract. The terms, however, have yet to be disclosed.

The Panthers needed receiver experience after trading D.J. Moore to the Chicago Bears in a trade that involved the first-ever pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Thielen, a two-time Pro Bowl pick, immediately becomes the Panthers’ most experienced receiver.

Last week, the Panthers also signed running back Miles Sanders, slotback Hayden Hurst and quarterback Andy Dalton.

Observers expect the Panthers to use the first overall pick to select a quarterback.
