Barbecue season may be over, but sausage season never really is. Sausages from Morteau, Toulouse or Strasbourg, the French heritage offers a whole range of this kind of meat and everyone can therefore find something for them.

Only, today, one of these products is recalled in store. These are real beef and mutton merguez from Le Marché Carrefour. More specifically, it is a tray of 6 sausages of 330g which is concerned and which must therefore be returned to one of the Carrefour stores in which it was on sale in order to obtain a refund.

These pieces were on the shelves from October 13 to 18, 2022 in many of the brand’s supermarkets throughout France. The recall procedure only targets products with GTIN 3245415348782, from batch C2285324 and with a best before date of October 22, 2022.

The reason for this recall is the suspected presence of Salmonella, the bacteria responsible for salmonellosis contamination. In case of consumption, this toxi-infection can occur and thus lead to gastrointestinal disorders, fever and headaches.

These symptoms can be all the more pronounced when those who are subject to them are young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised people or the elderly. In the event of consumption and the appearance of symptoms for these subjects, it is important to consult your doctor, mentioning the product at the origin of the contamination.
