Recall of sausages: all the points of sale concerned

Barbecued in the summer, sauerkraut in the winter… Sausage is a must in our kitchens, but unfortunately is not immune to the various product recalls that are rampant in the supermarket. Recently, the Rappel Conso platform alerted to the sale of several batches of sausages potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the agent responsible for listeriosis.

This serious infection can cause many health problems: sepsis, infection of the nervous system, premature delivery, neonatal infection… “In France, the disease remains rare (incidence of 5 to 6 cases per million inhabitants), but fatal. in 30 to 40% of cases occurring outside of pregnancy”, specifies the Institut Pasteur. Of food origin, listeriosis generally comes from contaminated dairy or meat products.

Have you purchased any of the products mentioned? Return it to the store before the end date of the recall procedure, set for November 22 for Morteau sausages and November 28 for merguez sausages.

People who have consumed potentially contaminated sausages should remain attentive to the following symptoms: fever, headache, body aches… And to consult their doctor in case of doubt.

“The incubation period for listeriosis ranges from a few days to two months; it is longer in the maternal forms (1 month) than in the septicaemic or neurological forms (a few days)”, recalls the Institut Pasteur.
