Realme Confirms Development of 300W Fast-Charging Technology

Realme, known for its innovative smartphone technology, has confirmed that it is currently working on a groundbreaking 300W fast-charging technology for its upcoming models. This announcement comes after the successful launch of the Realme GT Neo 5, which boasted an impressive 240W fast-charging support capable of fully charging the device in less than 10 minutes.

In a recent interview with The Tech Chap on YouTube, Francis Wong, CEO of Realme Europe and Global Marketing Director, revealed the brand’s plans to introduce the new 300W charging technology. This move is seen as a direct response to its competitor Xiaomi, who had previously showcased a similar 300W fast-charging technology.

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand had already demonstrated the capabilities of 300W charging last year with a modified Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition, managing to charge the device’s battery in less than five minutes. Realme’s decision to venture into this territory signifies a fierce competition between the two tech giants in the fast-charging sector.

Realme GT Neo 5, the predecessor to this upcoming technology, offered a swift charging experience with its 240W support. The device could charge from zero to 100 percent in just under 10 minutes, setting a high benchmark for the industry. This advancement allowed users to enjoy up to two hours of talk time with just a 30-second charge.

With the launch of the Realme GT Neo 5 SE featuring a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC, Realme continues to push the boundaries of smartphone technology. The device boasts an impressive 6.74-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a triple rear camera setup highlighted by a 50-megapixel primary sensor.

As the competition in the fast-charging market heats up, consumers can expect to see even faster-charging speeds in upcoming models from Realme and Xiaomi. Devices like the iQoo 11S, Infinix Zero Ultra 5G, and Realme GT Neo 3 currently offer impressive charging speeds, but the new 300W technology could soon surpass these benchmarks.
