(San Francisco) RJ Barrett scored a season-high 37 points as the Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors 133-118 on Sunday night.

Stephen Curry had a rather difficult evening, making only two out of 14 shots, for nine points. He missed all nine of his three-pointers.

Barrett made 11 of his first 14 shots. He also had six rebounds and six assists. Former Warriors Chris Boucher had 17 points and nine rebounds.

“I want to play the right way and help my teammates,” Barrett said. It’s a lot of learning. I’m still learning the defensive system and getting used to it every day, watching footage. I just want to help, that’s all. »

“I thought RJ was excellent today,” Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic said. Obviously, he scored several points, but I was also very proud of his play. He had six assists and played as a team. He was looking to make the best play possible every time. »

Klay Thompson scored 25 points for the Warriors.

Thompson’s three-point basket with 3:03 left brought the Warriors within 13 points of the Raptors.

Kevon Looney had 10 points and seven rebounds.

The Warriors struggled on shots in the first half, and were down 76-49 at halftime.

The Raptors led in scoring throughout the game. The Canadian team quickly took a 7-0 lead by hitting their first three shots.

The Raptors made 16 of their first 25 shots. They led 36-23 after one quarter.
