The draw for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) draft will be held on Wednesday, April 26.

Circuit officials made the announcement in a press release on Tuesday afternoon.

This lottery will determine the order of selection of the first five teams in the first round of the draft. The QMJHL draft session will take place on Saturday, June 10 at the Palais des sports Léopold-Drolet in Sherbrooke.

The draw will be supervised by an independent third party. The odds of winning the lottery are based on the team’s overall rank at the conclusion of the regular season.

Thus, the team in 18th and last position in the general classification will have nine of the 21 balls that will be inserted into the abacus and, therefore, a 43% chance of winning the draw.

The 17th, 16th, 15th and 14th position clubs will have 28% (six balls), 14% (three balls), 10% (two balls) and 5% (one ball), respectively, of winning the coin toss. .

Currently, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan (19-36-8) rank 18th in the QMJHL with 46 points in 63 games, three points behind the Saint John Sea Dogs (22-36-5) , who also played 63 games. The league teams play a schedule of 68 fixtures.

Once the name of a team has been drawn, balls identified with that organization will be removed from the process. The same operation will be repeated before each draw.

In addition, if the name of the team having finished in 18th and last place is not drawn after the first two rounds, it will be assured of the third choice.

In addition, the team that will be in 17th place in the general classification cannot select later than in fourth place.
