For a few years, the young Priscilla Ann Wagner was the wife of the one who was nicknamed the King, Elvis Presley. More in love than ever, they became parents of a daughter named Lisa Marie Presley on February 1, 1968.
“It was hard, especially when you’re so young, to be a new woman and automatically a mother and to be into rock ‘n’ roll. The three elements don’t mix very well. I wanted to be a mother , but I traveled a lot because Elvis wanted me by his side. It was very hard to make it all work“, she explained about her life as a young mother during an interview with the Huffington Post. But after several years punctuated by infidelities, the couple decided to separate in 1972. The divorce was officially pronounced in October 1973.
Despite their separation, Priscilla Presley would have remained very close to her ex-husband: “We remained friends until his death. We were always there for each other, it was a sweet relationship. what my daughter did to me was one day on TV: ‘Child, I didn’t realize that my parents had divorced'”.
