(Nashville) Veteran defenseman Mark Borowiecki has decided to draw a line under his career of more than 450 NHL games spanning 12 seasons.
The 33-year-old Borowiecki announced his decision on his social media on Wednesday, more than six months after playing his last professional game, which he left on a stretcher after being tackled against the ramp in a game against the Flyers of Philadelphia.
Hospitalized after this shock suffered on October 22, his name was placed on the list of long-term injured players and he did not play again this season.
A native of Ottawa, the skater played his last seasons in the uniform of the Nashville Predators, after spending most of his career with the Ottawa Senators. Best known for his rough play, he had 56 points in 468 games.
