Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick could be back in practice this week ahead of a visit by the Green Bay Packers.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday it’s possible Fitzpatrick will strain his hamstring after suffering an injury in the first quarter of the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Oct. 29.

“Minkah is progressing,” Tomlin said. We’ll see how the week goes for him, and if he might be available towards the end of it. »

The Steelers (5-3) moved veteran Patrick Peterson to safety to make up for the loss of Fitzpatrick, and several other players were also moved to their secondary. The Steelers did not give up a touchdown pass to the Tennessee Titans last Thursday, and they intercepted a pass from rookie quarterback Will Levis in the final minutes of the game to confirm their victory.

Elsewhere, Steelers linebacker Cole Holcomb will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a significant left knee injury against the Titans. Tomlin indicated that he will mainly rely on Kwon Alexander and Elandon Roberts to compensate for the loss of Holcomb.
