(Philadelphia) Dave Scott will retire as president of Philadelphia Flyers affiliate Comcast Spectacor and will be replaced by Dan Hilferty.

Hilferty, who was recently named general manager of Comcast Spectacor, will succeed Scott as president on April 17, and as team governor on July 1.

Scott joined Comcast Spectacor in December 2013 and the Flyers struggled under his tenure. They will miss the playoffs for the third straight season and haven’t won a Stanley Cup since 1975.

“Our main goal for the team will be to consistently fight for the Stanley Cup,” Hilferty said. It will take some time, but I am convinced that we are in the right direction with Daniel Brière as interim general manager, John Tortorella as head coach and the upcoming hiring of a president of hockey operations. Our management will focus on this for our fans, while ensuring that our facilities are the best place for sports and entertainment in the country. »
