Mahomes Was limited in practice all week

Patrick Mahomes is good to go.

Mahomes has been forced to leave the Kansas Chiefs’divisional-round match against the Cleveland Browns early after hitting his head on the ground on a tackle. He was helped up by his teammates but did not look like he knew that he was at Arrowhead Stadium playing in a playoff game.

He was last seen going back to the locker room under his own power but did not return. Chad Henne came to the game and threw a bad interception, giving the Browns some hope. But, Henne would redeem himself later in the match with a gutsy scramble along with a game-ending conclusion.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters earlier in the day that Mahomes just needed clearance from a different neural adviser as well as the Chiefs’ doctor.

Mahomes had been in practice all week and went through the repetitions, but could not do much else because he was at the transplant.

Bills coach Sean McDermott told me that the group was planning as if Mahomes was going to play.

“I guess at the beginning of the week we weren’t very certain, and we really won’t know, I guess,” he explained. “It is probably trending in that way, so that is what we’re expecting”

Kansas City is just one win away from another consecutive Super Bowl appearance.
