(New York) American rapper Snoop Dogg will be a consultant for NBC during the Paris Olympic Games in 2024, the television network announced in a press release published on Sunday.

“Let’s celebrate, let’s make these Games unforgettable, let’s blow away the competition and let the best shine like gold,” the hip-hop stalwart said in the release.

The 52-year-old rapper will work for NBC as a “special correspondent” at the Games and will “give his point of view on what’s happening in Paris, visit the city’s emblematic places, attend the competitions and meet the athletes, their friends and their family,” the channel reported.

In a video published on Sunday, the singer of the famous title Young, Wild and Free talks with American athletes like gymnast Suni Lee or skater Jagger Eaton, not hesitating to make jokes and use colloquial language.

“I grew up watching the Olympics and I’m thrilled to be able to see these incredible athletes give it their all in Paris. “It’s a holiday that celebrates talent, dedication, and the pursuit of greater purpose,” said the dreadlocked rapper, known for his love of marijuana.

This announcement is not necessarily a surprise, Snoop Dogg having made his debut as an Olympic consultant during the Tokyo Games which were held in 2021, with comments and remarks that have become iconic.

In a video posted on the artist’s X account for the new year on Monday, he is seen dancing in front of the Eiffel Tower to rap music, giving a taste of his dance moves on television starting July 26.
