(Ottawa) Forward Egor Sokolov signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.

Sokolov will earn US$775,000 in the NHL and $120,000 in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Sokolov, 23, spent the majority of the 2022-23 season with the AHL’s Belleville Senators.

The Russian set career highs with 21 goals, 38 assists, 59 points and 72 penalty minutes in 70 games.

Sokolov also played in five games with the Senators, recording a goal and an assist. He scored his first career NHL goal on April 8 in a 7-4 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Sokolov was selected by the Senators in the third round, 61st overall, in the 2020 draft.
