(Ottawa) The Ottawa Redblacks have signed a two-year contract extension with defensive back Brandin Dandridge, who was to become a free agent in February.

Dandridge was named the Redblacks’ MVP on special teams in 2023 after returning 45 punts for 539 yards, including one for a touchdown. He also returned 15 kickoffs for 328 yards in 13 games.

Defensively, the 27-year-old American set a career-high five interceptions, including two returned for touchdowns. He also caused a fumble.

In 31 games over four seasons in the federal capital, Dandridge had 61 tackles, nine interceptions and two touchdowns.

He spent time within the Kansas City Chiefs organization in 2022 before returning to Ottawa.
