The United Nations has decided: starting this year, June 11 officially becomes International Games Day.

Indeed, on March 25, the UN General Assembly adopted a proposal to formalize the creation of an International Games Day which will be celebrated every year. This Day is part of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Through this gesture, the UN recognizes in particular that the game makes it possible to acquire “essential psychosocial skills […], that it has positive effects on the promotion of tolerance and resilience and that it facilitates inclusion social security, conflict prevention and peacebuilding”. The UN further recognizes that “play and recreational activities are essential to the health and well-being of children.”

For the occasion, the company AblBlaLab is offering a fun happy hour with entertainment at Pub Randolph in Rosemont. On the program: cooperative games, exchanges and reflections. The activity is open to all. Reservation required.
