Absent from public life for several years, Serge Thériault will participate in a special radio program hosted by Stéphane Laporte and broadcast in December, on ICI Première. The actor from La petite vie will share the microphone with his old accomplice, the author and comedian Claude Meunier.

Airing December 24 at 5 p.m., the special will honor the careers of the two comedians and longtime friends, from Paul and Paul to Ding and Dong. This will be their first interview together in more than twenty years.

Suffering from serious depression, Serge Thériault had withdrawn from public life in recent years. Released in 2021, the documentary Outside Serge Outside painted the portrait of an isolated and reclusive actor, who systematically refused to leave his home.

Earlier in the fall, he made a moving return in front of the cameras by donning Môman’s nightcap while filming the final scene of the last of the six new episodes of La petite vie, presented on Tou.tv.

For two hours, various guests will take turns at the microphone and share their memories of the duo, including Michel Rivard, Michel Barrette, Guylaine Tremblay, Marc Messier and Yvon Deschamps. The show will conclude with new performances by tenor Marc Hervieux and imitator André-Philippe Gagnon.

A repeat of the show will air on December 25 at 11 a.m.
