(New York) Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner has been named the National League Rookie of the Month for March.

The Edmonton native, Skinner led the league with 10 wins in 12 games (10-1-1), posting a 2.83 GAA.

Skinner stopped 43 shots on March 30, helping his team win 2-0 against the Los Angeles Kings.

He then collected a first shutout this season, a second in his career.

Skinner is the first Oilers player to be Rookie of the Month since 2015-16.

That season, Connor McDavid earned the same honor in October, February and March.

The Oilers will host the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.

The Oilers will then try to win a fourth game in a row.
