(Winnipeg) William Karlsson and Ivan Barbashev scored 47 seconds apart in the second period, and the Vegas Golden Knights held on to win 4-2 over the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night to take a 3-point lead -1 in their series.

The Jets lost more than the game when Mark Scheifele left the ice early in the first period, and the team announced he would not return due to an upper body injury.

Brett Howden scored twice for the Golden Knights, including one in an empty net. Chandler Stephenson and Shea Theodore each added two assists. Laurent Brossoit made 24 saves.

Blake Wheeler scored once and dished out an assist, and Pierre-Luc Dubois also scored for the Jets. Neal Pionk added two assists, extending his scoring streak to seven assists in four games.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 26 of 29 shots he faced for the Jets.

The score was 1-1 after the first period and 3-1 for Vegas after the second.

Game 5 is Thursday in Vegas.
